Salvator Mundi, a work from the 1500s, is the most expensive painting in history
The work of Leonardo Da Vinci Salvator Mundi went to auction in New York and reached a record amount: 450 million dollars. The auction house Christie’s had estimated a departure for the upside auction of 100 million dollars. The seller is a private European collector who had purchased the work after its rediscovery in 2005. However, doubts remain about the attribution to the Florentine master.
